The foundations of the relations between the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and the Islamic Republic of Iran were laid down by the "Cooperation Protocol between the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran" signed on 24 August 1992 during the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan AR Heydar Aliyev's visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran upon foreign minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ali Akbar Vilayati's invitation. Supply of natural gas to the autonomous republic was launched in November 2005 in the wake of "Agreement on the exchange of natural gas" signed between the governments of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran in August 2004 so as to meet the gas demand of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. At present, land transport connection of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic with the rest of Azerbaijan is ensured only through the territory of Iran. In accordance with the Memorandum signed in August 2007, Nakhchivan-Baku-Nakhchivan regular bus route through the territory of Iran is active since November 2007. Julfa and Shahtakhti border crossing points with international status function on the border of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic with the Islamic Republic of Iran. In accordance with the Memorandum on the simplified entry-exit for the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan living in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and the Islamic Republic of Iran signed between the governments of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran, mutual simplified entry-exit regulations are applied since 30 April 2007. There are many Iranian entrepreneurs in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in various fields, such as trade, service and etc.

The chronology of the relations of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic with the Islamic Republic of Iran:

On December 4, 1991, Akber Pehrizkari, governor of the East Azerbaijan province of the Islamic Republic of Iran, paid a visit to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. In the course of the visit, the governor met with the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
On February 1, 1992, the representatives of the "Bonyade Möstezfan Enqelabi and Janbazane Enqelabe Eslami" company of the Islamic Republic of Iran paid a visit to Nakhchivan. In the course of the visit, the representatives were received by the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
On February 2, 1992, Hasan Gahhari, coordinator on the East Azerbaijan and West Azerbaijan provinces of the Ministry of Heavy Industry of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Haji Zeynalabdin Imanli, deputy director-chief of the Department of the Ministry of Heavy Industry of the Eastern Azerbaijan and other representatives paid a visit to Nakhchivan. In the course of the visit, the delegation was received by the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
On May 13, 1992, Mahmud Vaizi, deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran paid a visit to Nakhchivan. During the visit deputy minister met with the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
On August 22-26, 1992, Heydar Aliyev, the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan AR, paid a visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran upon the invitation of Ali Akbar Vilayati, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran. In the course of the visit, the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly met with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hashimi Rafsanjani, supreme religious chief of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayetullah Khomeini, the chairman of Parliament of the Islamic Republic of Iran - Assembly of Islam Council, and the ministers of Cooperation, Power engineering, Communication and Oil-Gas of the Islamic Republic of Iran. In the wake of discussions, on August 24, 1992, the Protocol concerning "Cooperation in different fields between the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran" was signed.
On November 20, 1992, the delegation led by Gulamrza Shafeyi, minister of Cooperation of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Iranian co-chairman of the Iran-Azerbaijan joint commission upon the cultural relations, paid a visit to Nakhchivan. In the course of the visit, the delegation met with the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan AR.
On December 03, 1992, Shahtakhti-Poldasht border-crossing point was opened. Heydar Aliyev, the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan AR, and G.Shafeyi, minister of Cooperation of the Islamic Republic of Iran participated in the inauguration ceremony.
On March 8, 1993, Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Nakhchivan began functioning. The first Consul-General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Nakhchivan was Muhammad Sadeg Turi.
On March 16, 1993, the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan AR paid a visit to Iran for the second time upon the invitation of Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran. While the visit Chairman of the Supreme Assembly met with Hashimi Rafsanjani, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
On March 17-18, 1993, in Tabriz, the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan AR met with Ali Abdulzadeh, governor of the East Province of the Islamic Republic of Iran. On March 18, 1993, the protocol regarding the economic and cultural cooperation between the parties was signed.
On April 22, 1993, the international conference devoted to the memory of Muhammadhussein Shahriyar was held in Nakhchivan. The Iranian scientists and intellectuals participated in the conference.
On May 12, 1993, the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan AR paid a visit to Urmiya city, Iran. In the course of the visit, the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly met with Gurbanali Saadet, the governor of the West Azerbaijan province of the Islamic Republic of Iran. During the visit the humanitarian and cultural cooperation protocol between the parties was signed.
On June 8, 1996, Vasif Talibov, the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan AR, paid a visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran upon the invitation of foreign minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran. In the course of the visit, the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly met with A.Vilayeti, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Habibi, vice-president of the Islamic Republic of Iran. During the visit, the protocol of plan for broadening the mutual cooperation between the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and the Islamic Republic of Iran was signed.
On February 11-15, 1997, the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan AR paid a visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran. In the course of the visit the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly met with H.Rafsanjani, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, N.Nuri, the Chairman of the Parliament, A.Vilayeti, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Agazade, Minister of Oil and Gas, and G.Shafeyi, Minister of Cooperation. In the course of the visit, the cooperation protocol between the parties was signed on February 11, 1997.
On November 20-21, 1997, the delegation led by Morteza Haji, Minister of Cooperation of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the co-chairman of Azerbaijan-Iran Intergovernmental Joint Commission on the economic, commercial and cultural cooperation, visited Nakhchivan after the official visit to Baku on November 16-20. In the course of the visit, the delegation met with the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan AR. During the visit on October 21, 1997, the "Memorandum for extending the cooperation between the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran" was signed.
In 1997-1999, the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan AR visited the East Azerbaijan province of the Islamic Republic of Iran twice. Meanwhile, the deputy of the East Azerbaijan Province of the Islamic Republic of Iran paid a visit to Nakhchivan.
On May 28, 2000, the delegation of the "Sehendab Azerbaijan" Consortium of the Islamic Republic of Iran paid a visit to Nakhchivan. In the course of the visit, the delegation was received by the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan AR. In the meeting the treaty for the reconstruction of Julfa-Nakhchivan macadam road was signed between the consortium and the Cabinet of Ministers of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
On July 17-18, 2001, Irej Itayeshi, the president "Unity of Preserve Industry" of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Jeyid Mansur Nasiri, the president of "Ogab" Company on production of foodstuffs, visited Nakhchivan. During the visit the representatives were received by the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan AR.
On January 7, 2002, Mehdi Safari, special representative of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the issues regarding the CIS and Caspian Sea, and deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, paid a visit to Nakhchivan. In the course of the visit, deputy minister met with the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan AR.
On February 26-27, 2002, Ehad Gazai, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Azerbaijan, paid a visit to Nakhchivan. In the course of the visit, ambassador met with the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan AR.
On March 9, 2002, Aliasgar Sherdust, the deputy of the Parliament of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the leader of Azerbaijan-Iran interparliamentary friendship group, and the other members of the group paid a visit to Nakhchivan. During the visit the representatives met with the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan AR.
On August 6, 2002, the delegation led by Ali Sufi, the Iranian co-chairman of the Iran-Azerbaijan joint economic commission paid a visit to Nakhchivan. In the course of the visit, the delegation met with the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan AR.
On October 21, 2002, Vasif Talibov, the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan AR, paid a visit to the East Azerbaijan province of the Islamic Republic of Iran upon the invitation of Muhammadali Subhanollahi, the governor of the province. At the end of the visit "The Protocol concerning the development of the mutual cooperation between the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Islamic Republic of Iran" was signed between the parties.
On March 10, 2003, Fettah Garabagi, the chief-executive of the electric net of the East Azerbaijan of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mohsunikebir Ismail, the deputy director of the "Tevanir" Company and Mohammadrza Meliki, the deputy head of the "Shanir" company, visited Nakhchivan under the leadership of Hojjet Mesud, the deputy minister of Power Engineering of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the head of the "Tevanir" Company. During the visit the representatives met with the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan AR.
On December 20, 2003, Haji Alekber Yasini and Abbas Hurshudi, deputy governors of the East Azerbaijan and West Azerbaijan provinces of the Islamic Republic of Iran paid a visit to Nakhchivan to present their condolences to the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan AR upon the death of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
On December 29, 2003, Vasif Talibov, the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan AR, coming to the Consulate-General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Nakhchivan presented his condolences concerning the earthquake which took place in the Kerman province of Iran on 26 December 2003.
On March 9, 2004, the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan AR participated in the opening ceremony of the goods and passenger terminal in Julfa city of the Islamic Republic of Iran. In the course of the visit, the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly met with Ahmed Hurrem, the Minister of Transport of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Mohammad Sobhanallahi, the governor of the East Azerbaijan province of Iran.
On April 29, 2004, Hasan Zenjani, the owner of the Urmiya and Khoy factories of sugar beet processing of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Alibed Bokru, director of the Urmiya sugar factory and Mohammad Jafari, director of the Khoy sugar factory visited Nakhchivan. In the course of the visit, the representatives were received by the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan AR.
On May 18, 2004, Nasir Meshgin, director of the "Chancho" Fishing Company of Iran, and Mohammad Shirvalilu, director of the State Fishing Company of Iran visited Nakhchivan. The representatives were received by the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan AR.
On June 3, 2004, the delegation led by Hamdulla Muhammadinejad, deputy minister of oil and gas products in the Caspian Sea of the Islamic Republic of Iran, paid a visit to Nakhchivan. In the course of the visit, the delegation was received by the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan AR.
On December 3-4, 2004, Jamshid Ensari, governor of the West Azerbaijan province of the Islamic Republic of Iran, paid a visit to Nakhchivan. During the visit the cooperation protocol between the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and the West Azerbaijan Province was signed. On December 4, 2004, the foundation ceremony of the Shahtakhti-Poldasht road bridge was held with the participation of the governor.
On April 20, 2005, the delegation of the "Sahandab Azerbaijan" Consortium of the Islamic Republic of Iran paid a visit to Nakhchivan to sign the treaty on the renewal of the asphalt-concrete cover of the Julfa-Ordubad highway. During the visit the delegation was received by the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan AR. The treaty on the renewal of the 36.8 km highway with the asphalt-concrete cover was signed between the Cabinet of Ministers of Nakhchivan AR and the Iranian company.
On Decebmer 20, 2005, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mahmud Ahmedinejad paid a visit to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. During the visit, the President of Iran met with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. Exchanges of views on the circumstance and the perspectives of the economic, cultural, humanitarian relations between the countries were conducted in the meeting. Meanwhile, "The Memorandum on the cooperation in the power engineering area between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran" was signed between the Presidents and "The Execution Memorandum on the usage of the development assistance between the governments of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran" was signed between the ministers of Foreign Affairs. A grand ceremony on the occasion of gas supply to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic through Iran was held in the same day. Presidents participated in the ceremony as well.
On February 22-23, 2006, the exhibition of "Union of Child and Juveniles Opinion" of the East Azerbaijan of Iran was held in Nakhchivan. The exhibits were different figures and toys, photos and drawings reflecting nature and ancient traditions of Iran.
The entrepreneurs from the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic participated in the "5th International Trade Exhibition" held in Urmiya, Iran, on 09-16 July 2006.
On July 15, 2006, Vasif Talibov, the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan AR, paid a 2-day visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran upon the invitation of Rahim Gurbani, the governor of the West Azerbaijan province. In the course of the visit, the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan AR and the governor of the West Azerbaijan signed the "Understanding Memorandum regarding the economic and cultural cooperation between the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the West Azerbaijan Province of the Islamic Republic of Iran".
On September 16-19, 2006, a delegation consisting of scientists and artists from Nakhchivan under the leadership of S.Ibrahimov, Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Nakhchivan AR, participated in the congress held upon 100th jubilee of the great poet Muhammadhussein Shahriyar in Tehran and Tabriz, Iran.
On November 20-21, 2006, 15-person delegation consisting of chief-directors of the Culture and Tourism Departments of the East Azerbaijan and West Azerbaijan provinces of the Islamic Republic of Iran participated in the international tourism conference on "Tourism in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic: Progress and Perspectives" held in Nakhchivan.
On November 22-23, 2006, two poets from Nakhchivan AR participated in the "Razavi Azeri" international poetry congress held in Urmiya, Iran.
On November 25-26, 2006, delegation from Nakhchivan AR participated in the scientific conference on "The Veterinary Potential of the West Azerbaijan Province and struggle against Bird Flu disease" held in Urmiya, Iran.
On January 18, 2007, opening ceremony of the administrative building of Julfa Customs Office and the general complex was held in the borderland territory of the Nakhchivan AR with Iran. The delegation led by Muhammadkazim Memarzade, the governor of the East Azerbaijan Province of the Islamic Republic of Iran, participated in the opening ceremony. In the course of the visit, the delegation met with the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan AR.
On February 13, 2007, delegation led by Rahim Nui Agdam, chief-director of the Department of Struggle against Smuggle and Borderline Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, paid a visit to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
On February 24-27, 2007, the judo team of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic took part in the international friendship judo tournament organized in Urmiya, Iran.
On 28 February - 03 March 2007, the wrestling team of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic participated in the international friendship wrestling tournament organized in Urmiya, Iran.
On April 26-28, 2007, a delegation consisting of municipality representatives from Nakhchivan under the leadership of the Head of Association of City Municipalities of the Nakhchivan AR participated in the event held upon the 100th jubilee of the Tabriz city municipality, which is supposed to be the first municipality in Iran.
On April 30, 2007, Seyyid Muhammad Tabatabayi, then newly appointed Consul-General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Nakhchivan, came to Nakhchivan and launched his official service. On 01 May 2007, Consul-General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Nakhchivan was received by the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan AR.
On April 30, 2007, a delegation led by Mrs. Nasrin Muazzim, chief of New Technologies Research Center of the Islamic Republic of Iran, visited Nakhchivan AR. In the course of the visit, the delegation conducted a meeting with the Nakhchivan AR Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources.
On May 03, 2007, delegation led by Hadi Dirafshi, deputy chief of Construction Fund of the Islamic Republic of Iran, visited Nakhchivan AR.
On May 24-25, 2007, delegation led by Naghi Ibrahim, deputy governor the East Azerbaijan Province of the Islamic Republic of Iran, visited Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. The purpose of visit was to present the invitation letter of the governor of the East Azerbaijan Province of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan AR.
On 31 May - 05 June 2007, some art representatives from the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic participated in the event held upon the death of Ayetollah Khomeini in Tehran, Iran.
On June 08, 2007, delegation led by Mahdi Hamidampur, chief director of the airports of the East Azerbaijan Province of the Islamic Republic of Iran, paid a visit to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. During the visit, the delegation met with the director of Nakhchivan International Airport.
On June 13-14, 2007, delegation of scientists from the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic participated in the scientific conference on Fuzuli studies in Urmiya, Iran, held by the Research Center of Azerbaijan Studies at Urmiya University of Iran upon the invitation letter of the Consulate-General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Nakhchivan.
On June 20-24, 2007, the wrestling team of Chaypara city of West Azerbaijan Province coming to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic did a friendship match in Nakhchivan.
On July 07-08, 2007, the delegation under the leadership of Vasif Talibov, the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan AR, paid a business visit to the East Azerbaijan Province of the Islamic Republic of Iran upon the invitation of the governor of the province. In the course of the visit, the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan AR and the governor of the East Azerbaijan signed the "Understanding Memorandum regarding the economic and cultural cooperation between the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the East Azerbaijan Province of the Islamic Republic of Iran".
On July 25-26, 2007, delegation led by Farrukh Matlabifar, chief director of the Meteorology Department of the West Azerbaijan Province of the Islamic Republic of Iran, paid a visit to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. During the visit, the delegation met with the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Nakhchivan AR and the Head of Hydrometeorology Department of the Ministry.
On July 26, 2007, the adviser of the East Azerbaijan Province of the Islamic Republic of Iran and M.A.Shafiinin, chief-executive of Iram Airlines of Iran, paid a visit to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. During the visit, the delegation met with the first deputy of the Prime Minister of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
On 31 July - 01 August 2007, a meeting was conducted between the delegations of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan as to the joint work on the shore issues. 5-man delegation led by the director-chief of the State Melioration and Water Economy Agency of the Nakhchivan AR headed to Iran to participate in the discussions.
On August 07, 2007, delegation led by Ahmadi Khalili, rector of Tabriz Scientific Medical University of Iran, paid a visit to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. During the visit, the delegation conducted meeting with the Minister of Health of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
On August 20, 2007, Mehdi Safari, deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, visited Nakhchivan. In the course of the visit, the deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran was received by the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan AR.
On August 31, 2007, five young artists from the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic took part in the 14th animation festival of the young artists held in Urmiya city of West Azerbaijan Province of Iran.
On September 11-12, 2007, delegation led by Jamshid Muhammadzade, deputy Governor of the West Azerbaijan Province of Iran, paid a visit to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. In the course of the visit, the delegation met with the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan AR, deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture, and Minister of Economic Development.
On October 14-15, 2007, 5-person delegation from the Ministry of Health of the Nakhchivan AR visited the Islamic Republic of Iran upon the invitation of Tabriz Medicine University of Iran.
On October 17, 2007, the opening ceremony of new Shahtakhti-Poldasht road between Azerbaijan and Iran was held. The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and first vice-president of the Islamic Republic of Iran Parviz Davudi participated in the ceremony.
On November 07-11, 2007, free wrestling team of the Nakhchivan AR took part in the free wrestling friendship tournament in Urmiya, Iran.
On November 08, 2007, the first passenger bus headed to Baku through Iran in accordance with the understanding Memorandum on the launching of regular Baku-Nakhchivan-Baku bus route signed between the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the government of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
On November 11-12, 2007, four poets from the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic participated in the "Razavi Azeri" international religious poetry congress held in Urmiya, Iran.
On November 15, 2007, 30-person delegation under the leadership of M.J.Atirchiyan, chief of Transit and Borderline Terminals Department of the Ministry of Road and Transportation of Iran, paid one-day visit to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. During the visit, delegation met the head of Nakhchivan AR State Customs Committee.
On November 16, 2007, Abbasali Amid Zanjani, rector of Tehran University, and the delegation accompanying him paid a visit to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. During his one-day visit, the rector was received by the first deputy of the Chairman of Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan AR, and met with the rector of Nakhchivan State University and the head of Nakhchivan Section of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.
On December 25-26, 2007, 3-person delegation led by chief of Hydrometeorology Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Nakhchivan AR visited Urmiya, Iran, upon the invitation of Hydrometeorology Grand Department of the West Azerbaijan of Iran.
On January 23-27, 2008, Nakhchivan's karate team took part in the international friendship karate contest held in Urmiya, Iran, upon the Iranian Islamic Revolution Day.
On January 30-31, 2008, delegation led by Majid Gadiri, deputy governor of Ardabil region of Iran, paid a visit to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. In the course of visit, the delegation was received by the Chairman of Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan AR.

On July 14-15, 2008, the Chairman of Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic paid an official visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran. On 26-27 June 2009, the delegation led by A.Zeynalov, 1st Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, and comprising the Minister of Economic Development, Minister of Transport and the Head of State Customs Committee of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic paid a visit to the Ardabil Province of the Islamic Republic of Iran. On 15-16 March 2010, delegation led by the chief-executive of the Central Department of Standardization and Research of the Iran's West Azerbaijan Province visited the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. On 05-07 April 2010, Prime Minister - Minister of Agriculture of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic paid a visit to the West Azerbaijan Province and capital Teheran of Iran. In the course of the visit, the agreement on the exchange of sugar beet with granulated sugar was signed between the Ministry of Agriculture of the Nakhchivan AR and the Khoy Sugar Plant of Iran.
