On January 29, 2010, the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic received Head of the OSCE Office in Baku

On 29 January 2010, Mr. Vasif Talibov, Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, received ambassador Ali Bilge Cankorel, Head of the OSCE Office in Baku.

Ambassador gave information about the projects being carried out in Azerbaijan by the OSCE Office in Baku, and stated that the main objective of the visit is to exchange views on the implementation of some projects in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in 2010.

The Chairman of the Supreme Assembly noted that the relations between the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and the OSCE Office in Baku, which has been functioning in Azerbaijan since 2000, were not satisfactory, whereas they have been improved during recent years. It was emphasized that the second visit of the head of Baku Office to Nakhchivan ensures solid improvement and effectiveness of mutual relations.

The Chairman of the Supreme Assembly mentioned that various events on 8 projects were held in the autonomous republic by the OSCE Office in Baku. The training was held for the colleagues of the Office of Commissioner on Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic under the project named "Support for durable training of lawyers", lectures on bar activity were given to the students of law department of the Nakhchivan State University, and informative seminars regarding the amendments to the Election Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan were organized. "River monitoring" and "green packet" projects in the framework of the project on environmental issues and the seminar on the topic of "Best practices for creating a positive business and investment climate" were jointly realized with the Nakhchivan State University.

Ambassador Ali Bilge Cankorel delivered information about the projects considered to be carried out in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in 2010 with the participation of the OSCE Office in Baku, and the views on those projects were exchanged.
