On 23 October 2018, a meeting was held between Vusal Alakbarli, Head of Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and Mansour Airom, Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

Head of Department thanked to M.Airom due to the contributions he made for the development of relations between the two states and wished successes to him in the future endeavors.

Expressing his gratitude for the support and the conditions created by Mr. Vasif Talibov, Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic during his diplomatic activity, he noted that he would spare no efforts to further strengthen bilateral relations.

         At the meeting, it had been exchange of views on several issues about cooperation between Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and Iran in particular in the fields of economy, education and health, the necessity of developing relations in the field of sports and current situation of the implemented projects and measures.
