On 21 February 2019, Mr. Vasif Talibov, Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic met with Teruyiki Katori, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Sincerely welcoming the guest, Mr. Vasif Talibov expressed his satisfaction over the meeting with the ambassador in the autonomous republic.

Chairman of the Supreme Assembly assessed the implementation of the project on construction of the water supply system in Azadkend village of Ordubad district as a result of mutual relations with the support of the Japanese government and expressed gratitude to the ambassador.

Hailing to the relations between Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and Japan in the field of education and economic spheres, Chairman of the Supreme Assembly mentioned the participation of representatives of the autonomous republic in various trainings and seminars in Japan.

Chairman of the Supreme Assembly recalled the visit of the Japanese Okinawa Prefecture delegation to Nakhchivan in 2016 and the reciprocal arrangements made during that time and wished best successes to the ambassador in the implementation of the project.

Ambassador Teruyuki Katori expressed his satisfaction over his visit to Nakhchivan – Homeland of National Leader Heydar Aliyev.

Noting that the Japanese-Azerbaijani relations are developing in economic, educational and cultural spheres, the ambassador made remarks on the implementation of the water supply system project in the autonomous republic and stated that he would spare no efforts in order to expand the mutual ties.

The current relations between Japan and Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic were discussed at the meeting and exchanged views on the future projects to be implemented.
