On 16 April 2019, Mr. Vasif Talibov, Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic met with Mr. Kestutis Jankauskas head of the EU delegation and Alessandro Fracassetti, UNDP Resident Representative a.i. in Azerbaijan.

Chairman of the Supreme Assembly expressed satisfaction with the visit of the guests to Nakhchivan, noting the successful implementation of projects carried out by the European Union and the United Nations in the autonomous republic.

Noting that 2019 was declared as "Year of Family Farms" in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic due to the fact that more than a thousand families operate in the autonomous republic, Mr. Chairman hailed the work done in order to develop this area, and made remarks on the "Women's Empowerment for Sustainable Development".

Thanking for warm welcome, Mr. Kestutis Jankauskas head of the EU delegation in Azerbaijan remembered the opening of the "European campus" in Nakhchivan last year.

Noting their wish to attend at the “Katha Festival” in Nakhchivan, the guest highly appreciated the development of the family farms in the Autonomous Republic, on the account of the festivals and the events, in terms of contributing to the determination of the place of women in society.

Alessandro Fracassetti, UNDP Resident Representative a.i. in Azerbaijan drew attention to the relationship between the organization he represented and the autonomous republic, and evaluated existing opportunities for cooperation.
