On 12 September 2019, Mr. Vasif Talibov, Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic met with Ms. Muriel Peneveyre, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The Chairman of the Supreme Assembly welcomed the guest and drew attention to the relationship between the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and the Swiss Confederation. Speaking about the kahriz rehabilitation project in the autonomous republic as a result of joint cooperation, the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly reminded the visit of former President of the Swiss Confederation, Micheline Calmy-Rey in 2011 to Nakhchivan.

Noting the establishment of a Solar Power Plant in Nakhchivan by the Swiss company and a number of international events held in the autonomous republic, the Chairman of the Supreme Assemly expressed his confidence that Ms. Muriel Peneveyre's visit will also contribute to the expansion of cooperation.

Ambassador mentioned that she paid her first official visit to Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic during her diplomatic mission and thanked for the special attention. Touching upon the importance of mutual relations, Ms. M.Peneveyre said that efforts would be made to further expand the cooperation.
