On 12 September 2019, Vusal Alakbarli, Head of Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic met with met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ms. Muriel Penevere.

V.Alakbarli gave detailed information about the Department and said that establishment of cooperation between universities of the autonomous republic and Swiss universities will contribute to the development of bilateral relations. He also noted that we will be pleased to see the involvement of the Department's staff in diplomatic courses in Switzerland.

Expressing her gratitude for the warm reception, the ambassador stressed the importance of establishing direct relations between universities. She mentioned that since there is no Diplomatic Academy in Switzerland, professional diplomats are mainly trained while they work. M.Penevere mentioned that in the future, the Department will be notified if appropriate diplomatic courses will be organized.
