On 14 November 2019, Mr. Vasif Talibov,  the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic met with Mr. Egidius Navikas, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The Chairman of the Supreme Assembly congratulated the ambassador on his new appointment as a head of diplomatic mission in our country and emphasized the importance of his visit to Nakhchivan. Speaking about the development of various spheres of economy in the autonomous republic, the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly noted the potential for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan in the field of agriculture, education and tourism.

Egidius Navikas expressed his satisfaction over  his diplomatic tenure in Azerbaijan and his visit to Nakhchivan and spoke about the existing relations between Lithuania and Azerbaijan. Noting that they attach great importance to the development of relations with the Autonomous Republic of Nakhchivan, the diplomat said efforts will be increased in this regard.
