On 07 November 2019, Vusal Alakbarli, Head of the Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic  met with Elena Aymone Sessera, Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Delegation in the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The Head of Department welcomed the guest and expressed his satisfaction over meeting her for the third time in the autonomous republic. Then V.Alakbarli gave detailed information about the structure and activities of the Department.

E.A. Sessera expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome and thanked for the assistance in organizing the visit. She noted that her term of office expires in 2020 and she will visit autonomous republic with the new chief as well.

During the meeting, lectures held at Nakhchivan State University, condition of temporary detention facilities, as well as the Metsamor nuclear power plant and other issues of mutual interest were discussed.
