On 18 March 2021, Mr. Vasif Talibov, Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic met with Mr Riza Tuna Turagay, Deputy Minister of Trade and Chairman of the Customs Administration of the Republic of Turkey and the delegation led by him.
Sincerely welcoming the guests, Chairman of the Supreme Assembly noted that the visit coincided with Canakkale Naval Victory and the Martyrs' Memorial Day, and paid tribute to the memory of the martyrs of Canakkale and Karabakh. Noting that Azerbaijan-Turkey strategic partnership is strengthened year by year in accordance with the will of the Presidents of the two countries, Mr. Chairman said that the construction of the modern complex for Sadarak Customs and Border Checkpoint is an expression of the importance attached to bilateral relations. Chairman of the Supreme Assembly noted that there were wide opportunities for cooperation in the region, and highly appreciated the prospects of bilateral trade relations between the autonomous republic and Turkey.
On behalf of the delegation, Rza Tuna Turagay, Deputy Minister of Trade and Chairman of the Customs Administration of the Republic of Turkey thanked for the warm hospitality. The guest stressed the importance of Azerbaijan's historic victory in the Second Karabakh War and the agreement reached for the region. Making remarks on the future cooperation, Riza Tuna Turagay said that the development of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic contributed to bilateral relations.
During the conversation, the sides exchanged views on certain issues of mutual interest.
