On 20 May 2021, Mr. Vasif Talibov, Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic met with Mr. Junichi Wada, Japanese Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Chairman of the Supreme Assembly highlighted the works done in the fields of socio-economic development of the autonomous republic, in terms of education system, application of new technologies and Internet provision, as well as food security. Noting the development of relations between Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and Japan, Chairman of the Supreme Assembly assessed the project to improve drinking water supply in Azadkand in Ordubad district as a result of the bilateral cooperation.
Chairman of the Supreme Assembly stressed that there are wide opportunities for establishing relations between higher education institutions, and reminded that the athlete of the autonomous republic will participate at the Tokyo Summer Olympic Games.
Thanking for the warm welcoming, Junichi Wada made remarks on Azerbaijan-Japan relations and the importance of his visit to Nakhchivan. Expressing his admiration to the development of the Autonomous Republic and the beauty of the city, Mr. Ambassador stated that he would talk about the tourism potential of Nakhchivan in his country and maximize his efforts for further improvement of the relations.
