Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Mr. Vasif Talibov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Azerbaijan Alfredo Fidel Nieves Portuondo on November 16, 2017.

The Chairman of the Supreme Assembly welcomed the guest and expressed his pleasure to see him in Nakhchivan city, the homeland of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev. Speaking about the close ties between H.Aliyev and  the leader of the Cuban Revolutionary Fidel Castro Mr.Chairman said that two countries have supported each other within international organizations and that bilateral relations were developing in various fields. Noting the trade relations between the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and Cuba, the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly emphasized the importance of establishing cooperation in the field of education and, in particular, the exchange of experience in the development of tobacco production.

Alfredo Fidel Nieves Portuondo expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome. The ambassador noted that despite all the difficulties Nakhchivan was exemplary and opened great opportunities for cooperation.
