On November 16, 2017, Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov met with Kestutis Yankauskas, Head of the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The Chairman of the Supreme Assembly said the relations between the European Union and Azerbaijan, particularly in the field of education implemented in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and informed about the students of Nakhchivan State University continuing education at various European universities. Noting the importance of the mutual projects of EU the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly emphasized that efforts would be made to further develop relations and thanked the head of the EU Delegation to the Republic of Azerbaijan for his contribution in this field.

Expressing his satisfaction with his visit to Nakhchivan, Kestutis Yankauskas stressed his interest in developing relations between European Union in the autonomous republic and expanding bilateral ties.

The sides exchanged views on further development of relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the European Union.
