On April 30 – May 01, 2018, Kestutis Yankauskas, the head of the EU Delegation to the Republic of Azerbaijan and his wife Ramune Jankauskiene paid an official visit to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. The aim of visit was to prepare for the "European Days" project, which will be held in Nakhchivan in September and to participate in the seminar on "Vocational education and training, future development of skills and exchange of experience on strengthening competitiveness of economy".

During the visit, the ambassador held several official meetings.

On May 01, 2018, K.Yankauskas participated in the seminar on "Vocational education and training, future development of skills and exchange of experience on strengthening competitiveness of economy", jointly organized by The Delegation of  European Union to Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Education of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and the State Agency on Vocational Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan within the framework of the project “EU support to vocational education and training in Azerbaijan” and attended to the opening ceremony of “Nakhchivan-2018” International Chess Festival dedicated to the 95th anniversary of national Leader Heydar Aliyev.

Within the framework of the two days’ visit, the guests visited the "Ashabi-Kahf Sanctuary" Religious and Cultural Monument Complex and got acquainted with the historical monument of Alinjagala.
