On 17 December 2019, in accordance with the Decree of the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic "On Support of Additional Measures and Innovations in the Specialty Tutoring in Higher and Secondary Special Education Institutions" dated April 3, 2019, scientific-practical conference on “Energy Diplomacy of the Republic of Azerbaijan” was held by the Department of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic at “Nakhchivan” University.

Opening the conference, Nurlana Aliyeva, rector of “Nakhchivan” University noted the successes achieved in the field of energy security in our country, the energy policy and the advancements in the field of diplomacy.

Then Vusal Alakbarli, Head of Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic gave brief information about the establishment of diplomatic services of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the way of development over the past 100 years, the goals and objectives of foreign policy.

Noting that the foreign policy course laid by National Leader Heydar Aliyev is successfully continued today by Mr. President Ilham Aliyev, Head of Department made remarks on serious and significant progress has been made in the field of national diplomacy under the leadership of the President.

Highly appreciating the successful implementation of an independent foreign policy aimed at the perfect implementation of the energy strategy and the interests of statehood, V. Alakbarli stated that Azerbaijan located in the crossroads of East and West, as well as North and South, has recently gained a position as a significant partner in the implementation of several energy projects.

The conference was continued with the respective lectures on “Energy Policy of the Republic of Azerbaijan”  and “Southern Gas Corridor and Transit Potential to Azerbaijan” by Parviz Budagov and Ulvi Mammadli, diplomats of the Department of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

At the end of the conference, the questions addressed by participants were answered.
